Natural Remedies to Reduce Allergic Reaction
Parent University | October 21, 2017 | 9:00am-3:00pm
Does your child experience food, respiratory and/or environmental allergies? Your family is not alone! True food allergies, delayed food sensitivities, rashes, hives, eczema, asthma, and chemical sensitivity are on the rise, especially for young people. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America estimates that 40% of children have allergic conditions—the most common health issue affecting children in the U.S. Join Susan at Castro Valley Adult & Career Education this fall to learn how to reduce these problems by establishing an anti-inflammatory diet, avoiding unintentional exposures at home, identifying and removing food triggers, and building deep support for the challenged immune system. We will discuss common problem foods, the role of gut bacteria in promoting allergies, and unsuspected environmental triggers (could even be the water you drink on a daily basis!). The great news is that there are natural histamine and inflammation-reducing foods, beverages and herbs that can help calm and re-set immune response. We will also cover some simple home tests you can use to improve understanding of your child’s individual situation. Class will include a short food demo!

Need a speaker for your group?
Susan is available to speak to parent groups, employee or trade associations, sororities/fraternities, homeowner’s associations or home Tupperware-style get-togethers. She is also available to provide informational talks on nutrition and health to patients of other medical professionals such as doctors, ob/gyn, osteopaths, chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, physical therapists, etc.
When Susan speaks to your group you can expect an interactive, engaging experience that will provide inspiration, education and practical advice that participants can immediately put to use. Meetings can be purely educational; could include a short demonstration of how to make a quick and healthy food, or could involve a full-scale cooking class if the site permits. The goal is always to provide just enough information to convey why a suggested approach is beneficial, and then focus primarily on how to turn ideas into action. Call to plan a talk or meeting that is geared to your needs.
